Group Shuttle Questions
Straight answers for families and groups planning an airport run or a weekend trip.
Can you pick up a family of 10 from the airport in one vehicle?
Yes. The Ellis shuttle bus seats nine or ten, so your whole family can ride from the terminal to your hotel together instead of waiting on two or three separate cars. Tell Ellis your exact headcount when you book. If you're traveling alone, a sedan is available instead. Request your airport ride.
Do you offer shuttle rides for Gators game weekends?
Yes, airport-to-hotel transfers and group rides for nine or ten people fit a game weekend well. Your group lands, rides to the hotel together, and rides back to the airport together when the weekend is over. Game weekends bring a lot of visitors to town, so reach out once your flights are set. Send your dates through the contact form.
Can a wheelchair user ride with the rest of our group to the airport?
Yes. The shuttle bus is wheelchair accessible and has a hydraulic lift, so a family member in a wheelchair boards the same vehicle as everyone else. Let Ellis know about the wheelchair when you book. If the trip is for a doctor's visit or treatment, see non-emergency medical transportation.
How far ahead should I book an airport shuttle?
Book as soon as you know your flight times. Group rides use the shuttle bus, so reaching out early gives Ellis the best chance to hold it for your dates. Call (352) 225-1740 or use the contact form with your arrival and departure details.
How much does a group airport shuttle cost?
The price depends on your trip, so Ellis quotes it once you share the details. Distance, the number of riders, how many stops you need and whether you need a round trip all affect the cost. Ellis takes all major credit cards through Square, plus cash, Zelle and Cash App. Ask for a quote.
Is the group shuttle the same as your medical rides?
No, airport and group trips are a separate service from the medical rides. For appointments, surgery and dialysis visits, see non-emergency medical transportation. For a ride home after an emergency room visit, see hospital ER discharge transportation.
Do you drive groups outside Gainesville?
Yes. Ellis is based in Gainesville and serves clients across Alachua County and the rest of Florida. Share your pickup and drop-off points when you book so Ellis can plan the route and the timing.
What should I have ready when I book a group ride?
Have your flight numbers, arrival and departure times, headcount and hotel address ready. Mention any wheelchair users and roughly how much luggage the group is bringing. Those details let Ellis match the right vehicle to your trip. Send them through the contact form.
